The Lion and the fox Story

Once upon a time there lived a lion in a dense forest. One morning his wife told him that his breath was bad and unpleasant. The lion became embarrassed and angry upon hearing it. He wanted to check this fact with others. So, he called three others outside his cave.

First came the sheep. The Lion opening his mouth wide said, “Sheep, tell me if my mouth smells bad?” The sheep thought that the lion wanted an honest answer, so the sheep said, “Yes, Friend. There seems to be something wrong with your breath”. This plain speak did not go well with the lion. He pounced on the sheep, killing it.

Then the lion called the wolf and said, “What do you think? Do I have a bad breath?” The wolf saw what happened to the sheep. He wanted to be very cautious in answering a question. So, the wolf said, “Who says that Your breath is unpleasant. It’s as sweet as the smell of roses”. When the lion heard the reply, he roared in an anger and immediately attacked the wolf and killed it. “The flatterer!” growled the lion.

Finally, came the turn of the fox. The lion asked him the same question. The fox was well aware of the fate of the sheep and the wolf. So he coughed and cleared his throat again and again and then said, “Oh Dear Friend, for the last few days, I have been having a very bad cold. Due to this, I can’t smell anything, pleasant or unpleasant”.

The lion spared the fox’s life.

Moral:  Do not involve yourself in a bad company or a bad situation else you may end up getting punished for no fault of yours.  Sometimes, it’s wise to stay away from certain situations.

The Monkey and the Two Cats

Once upon a time, two cats lived together. One day, they found a delicious piece of bread. Both cats wanted the larger share, and soon they began arguing.

“It belongs to me!” said one cat.

“No, I should get the bigger piece!” said the other.

They argued and argued but could not decide how to divide the bread fairly.

A clever monkey was watching them from a nearby tree. He saw an opportunity and walked over.

“Why are you fighting?” asked the monkey.

The two cats explained their problem.

“I can help you divide the bread equally,” said the monkey. “Let me be the judge.”

The cats agreed and handed him the bread.

The monkey broke the bread into two pieces. But one piece looked slightly bigger than the other.

“This isn't fair,” said the monkey. He took a bite from the larger piece.

Now the other piece looked bigger, so he took a bite from that one too.

He continued biting from one piece and then the other, pretending that he was trying to make them equal.

Before long, the bread became smaller and smaller until nothing was left.

The two cats stared at the monkey in surprise.

“Where is our bread?” they asked.

The monkey smiled and replied, “The payment for my hard work is the bread!”

The cats realized that their greed and arguing had allowed the monkey to take everything.

They walked away sadly, having learned an important lesson.

Moral of the Story

When you fight over what you have, someone else may take advantage of your disagreement. It is better to share fairly than to let greed divide you.

A wise cow ran up to the bull and told him the matter. The bull came and requested, “Get out, please! Let them have their food”. There was no reply. The bull became angry. He bellowed loudly and stamped his legs. The dog got frightened and ran for his life.

Lion always became lazy, so he wanted to kill the tiny one. But whenever he feels hungrier than he will go for a big hunt. That time if no one available then he will become hungry more so he can see any animal nearby can kill and feel his tummy.

As the lion was about to kill the hare, a deer ran that way. The lion became greedy. He thought, “Instead of eating this small hare let me eat the big deer”. He let the hare go and went behind the deer. But the deer had vanished into the forest. The lion now felt sorry for letting the hare off.

The hunter ran after them. But he could not catch them. The leader said, ‘We have got away from the hunter. But we have not got away from the net. Let us go to our friend, the mouse. He will help us.’

Lion and Rabbit

The lion was very angry that no animal had come that day. The hare slowly came towards the lion. The lion roared "Why are you late?" The hare humbly replied, "Oh my way another lion chased me. I got away with much difficulty to give my life to you, Your Majesty".

The lion was pleased with the hare. But the thought of another lion in the jungle made him angry. The lion roared "Do you know where he lives?" The hare replied "Yes, Sir. Please come with me".

The hare took the lion to the old well. He said "Sir, that lion lives in this well". The lion peeped into the well. He mistook his reflection for another lion. He roared and there was an echo. He thought that the other lion was roaring too and jumped into the well. That was the end of the lion.
