The Fox and the Crow Story

Once there lived a crow in a high tree top. The crow once snatched away a piece of a meat. The crow flew  swiftly  to a  tree top. The  crow settled  and was  about  to  eat  the meat a fox happened met the crow. He smelled  the meat and looked up the crow. He wanted to eat the meat from the crow.

He  said  in  a  sweet  voice, “Hello  Crow!  Good Morning”.  The crow  did  not  open  her  mouth.  The fox thought what to say next.

He  said,  “Oh  beauty  queen!  If  you  look  so  bright  and   colorful,  your  voice  must  be  sweet.  Let  me  hear,  please!”  The crow was  flattered.  She  opened  her  mouth  to  caw.

And  oh!  Down  fell  the meat. The fox ate away the piece of that meat and went away.  

Moral : Flattering words are not always acceptable.

Story of The Hunter and The Pigeons : Unity is Strength

One day a hunter went out to catch birds. He spread out a net on the ground. He put rice all over the net. Then he hid in a bush nearby. Soon some pigeons came flying by. They saw the rice. They did not see the net. They flew to the ground. They began to eat the rice.

The hunter in the bush saw the pigeons eating the rice. He pulled the string of the net. The pigeons were caught in the net. The pigeons had a leader. He said to the pigeons, ‘We are caught in a hunter’s net. Don’t get afraid. Do what I say. Then you will be saved.’

‘We will do what you say,’ said all the pigeons. ‘Fly together up in the sky,’ said the leader. All the pigeons flew up. They took the net off the ground.

The hunter ran after them. But he could not catch them. The leader said, ‘We have got away from the hunter. But we have not got away from the net. Let us go to our friend, the mouse. He will help us.’

They flew down to the ground. They found the mouse in his hole. The leader said, ‘Friend mouse, will you help us?’

‘Most gladly! said the mouse. With his sharp teeth he cut through the net. He set all the pigeons free.

Moral: Unity is Strength. Obey your Leader and you will be Strong.

Two Goats and a Narrow Bridge

There was a green meadow. Across this meadow ran a Brooke. There was a bridge to connect the two parts of the meadow. Animals used to cross this bridge to graze on both the parts of the meadow.

Once, two goats who were grazing on either sides of the river wanted to cross the bridge at a time. But, the bridge was narrow to hold only one goat. Both the goats were so adamant to cross at the same time. This led to a quarrel among them. At the end both fell into the Brooke and got drowned.

There were two other goats who wanted to cross the bridge. They were both understanding in nature. They were willing to adjust. One goat squatted on the bridge while the other crossed over this goat. After that goat had crosses, the goat which had squatted got up and walked across the bridge. Thus, both the goats crossed the bridge.

Moral: Pride leads to fall and patience always pays.

Story of the Greedy Lion

Once there lived a king lion in the forest. It was a hot summer day. A lion was feeling very hungry. He came out of his den and searched here and there. He could find only a small hare. He caught the hare with some hesitation. “This hare cannot fill my tummy” thought the lion.

As the lion was about to kill the hare, a deer ran that way. The lion became greedy. He thought, “Instead of eating this small hare let me eat the big deer”. He let the hare go and went behind the deer. But, the deer had vanished into the forest. The lion now felt sorry for letting the hare off.

Moral: Greedy is always curse.

The Dog and the Cows In the Manger

Once there lived a group of cows with a herd. The cows used to eat hay from the manger. One day a herd of cows came to the manger to eat hay. They saw a dog lying on the hay in the manger.

One of the cow pleaded, “Please, will you get up! We are hungry. We have to eat our hay”. The dog did not take heed of it. Once again another cow pleaded, “Please, let us have our hay”. The dog snarled and the cow stepped back.

A wise cow ran up to the bull and told him the matter. The bull came and requested, “Get out, please! Let them have their food”. There was no reply. The bull became angry. He bellowed loudly and stamped his legs. The dog got frightened and ran for his life.

MORAL: IT IS NO GOOD TO BE A DOG IN A MANGER

Mind Your Own Business : Short Story of the Donkey and The Dog

Once upon a time there lived a dog and a donkey in a house of a washer man. The dog guarded his house and the donkey carried clothes to his back to the town.

It was a hot afternoon. The dog was sleeping under the shady veranda. There was some noise outside. The dog just lifted up his head and went back to sleep.

The donkey asked, “Why don’t you bark. It could be thieves”. The dog replied, “Mind your own business”. But the donkey would not listen. He wanted to save his master from thieves. He started to bray.

The master who was sound asleep got wild with the donkey and came running out with a stick and gave hard beatings to the donkey.

Moral: It is always better to mind your own business.

The Fox and The Stork

Once there lived a fox in a jungle. He met a stork nearby the seashore.  They became friends. One day fox wanted to tease the stork. He invited the stork to dinner. The stork accepted. The fox prepared a soup and served the soup in a flat plate. He said, “Let’s start our dinner, and began lapping. He looked at the stork and asked, “Isn’t the soup delicious? You like it, don’t you?”

The stork could only smell the flavor. She was not able to drink the soup with her long beak from the flat plate. She understood that the fox was teasing her. She looked helplessly while the fox was just enjoying himself.

After they had finished, the stork invited the fox. The fox said, he would come”. So a few days later, the stork prepared soup and, now, she served in a long jug with a narrow mouth.

Now, the fox could not drink from the jug. But the stork drank comfort ability and said, “What a nice soup! I prepared this specially for you, Please don’t feel shy. Have as much as you want”.

The fox now felt he was paying for his mischief.

The Dove and The Wicked Boy

Once there was a bee lived in a tree. It fell into a stream. He was struggling to get out of the water. His wings got wet and he could not fly.

A dove was perched on a nearby tree. She saw the struggling bee. She plucked a leaf. She held the leaf in her beak and flew up to the bee. She scoped the bee with the leaf and dropped him out on the shore. After sometime the bee flew away.

A few days later, the dove was perched on the same tree and sleeping. A boy was aiming his sling at her. The bee saw the boy. And when the boy was about to shoot, he bit the boy’s hand. The boy cried with pain. The dove woke up and flew away.

Moral: If you help someone God will help you always.

The Lion and The Bull

 It was a hot day. A bull was sound asleep under a shady tree. The bull was snoring loudly. This loud noise evoked the curiosity of a small mouse passing that away.

The mouse climbed up to the nose of the bull. As the bull snored, the mouse bit his nose madly for fun’s snake. But the bull woke up and snorted “Who bit me and woke me up?” The little mouse replied “Sorry Mr.Bull! I bit you playfully, but I did not expect to wake you up”.

The bull got wild. He started to chase the small mouse. The mouse began to run for his life. At last he found a small hole in a stone wall. He ran into the hole and waited to see what the bull is going to do.

The bull came dashing up to the wall. He was not able to catch the mouse. He roared “You silly creature! I’II teach you a lesson” and dashed against the wall. The wall was too strong for the bull.

The bull heard the mouse saying “Why are you breaking your heard for so small a thing?” He left the place immediately.

Moral: Anger is not the right behavior.
