Grasshopper and an Ant Short Story

grasshopper and an ant
Once there lived a grasshopper in a field. On a bright sunny day, when an ant was working hard to collect food, the grasshopper was singing the songs. He would look at the ant and say, ”Why do you work so hard? Summers are for fun and games. Come, listen to my song”. But the ant would ignore him and continue working.

As the days of winter came by, the grasshopper had nothing to eat. He begged the ant for food, but she said, ”When I worked hard, you sang. Go away, there is no food for you”. The grasshopper learned his lesson the hard way.

Moral: Work hard so you can reap the benefits tomorrow.

Lion and The Rabbit Story Summery

Lion and The Rabbit Story Summery
Once upon a time there lived a lion in the forest. It was a greedy lion and started killing animals in the forest indiscriminately. Seeing this, all the animals gathered and decided to approach the lion with the offer of one animal eaten by the lion every day. So every day it was the turn of one of the animals and in the end came the rabbits' turn. The rabbits chose a old rabbit among them. The rabbit was wise and old. It took its own sweet time to go to the Lion. The Lion was getting impatient on not seeing any animal come by and swore to kill all animals the next day.

The rabbit then strode along to the Lion by sunset. The Lion was angry at him. The rabbit told the Lion that it was not his fault. He told that there was another lion who wants to kill him. Somehow he escaped to reach safely, the rabbit said.

He said that the other Lion was challenging the supremacy of his Lordship the Lion. The Lion was naturally very enraged and asked to be taken to the location of the other Lion.

The wise rabbit agreed and led the Lion towards a deep well filled with water. Then he showed the Lion his reflection in the water of the well. The Lion was furious and started growling and naturally its image in the water, the other Lion, was also equally angry.

Then the Lion jumped into the water at the other Lion to attack it, and so lost its life in the well. Thus the wise rabbit saved the forest and its inhabitants from the proud Lion.

Lion and The Little Mouse Story

Once upon a time there lived a lion in a forest. One day morning the lion lay asleep in the shade of a oak tree. A little mouse came upon him unexpectedly, and in her fright and haste to get away, ran across the lion's nose.  Woken from his nap, the lion laid his huge paw angrily on the tiny creature to kill her.

"Spare me!" begged the poor mouse. "Please let me go and some day I will surely repay you." The lion was so amused at the idea of the little mouse being able to help the King of Beasts, that he lifted up his paw and let her go.

Some weeks later, the lion was caught in a net.  The hunters, who desired to carry the lion alive to their King, tied him to a tree while they went in search of a wagon to carry him.

Just then the little mouse happened to pass by, and seeing the lion's sad plight, went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes of the net, freeing the lion.

"You have helped me and now I have returned the favor.  Was I not right - even a mouse can help a lion!" said the little mouse.

Moral: Don't forget:  even the smallest friend is worthwhile!
