The Crane and The Wolf Story

Once upon a time there lived a wolf in a dense forest. Once the wolf had been feasting too greedily, and a bone had stuck crosswise in his throat. He could get it neither up nor down, and of course, he could not eat a thing. Naturally, that was an awful state of affairs for a greedy Wolf.

So away he hurried to the Crane. He was sure that she, with her long neck and bill, would easily be able to reach the bone and pull it out. “I will reward you very handsomely”, said the Wolf, “if you pull that bone out for me”.

The Crane, as you can imagine, was very uneasy about putting her head in Wolf’s throat. But she was grasping in nature, so she did what the Wolf asked her to do. When the Wolf felt that the bone was gone, he started to walk away.

“But what about my reward!” called the Crane anxiously.

“What!” snarled the Wolf, whirling around. “Haven’t you got it? Isn’t it enough that I let you take your head out of my mouth without snapping it off?”

Moral: Expect no reward for serving the one who has no honor. Staying in a company of selfish people will not do anyone any favor.

The intelligent crow and fables story with moral

Once upon a time there lived a crow in a forest. One hot day, the crow became thirty. It was summer so the thirsty crow flew around the fields searching for water. But there was none to be found. The crow started feeling weak and lost hope.

Just then, it noticed a water jug under a tree. Excitedly, the crow flew down to see if there was any water inside. And yes, it could see some water!

The crow tried putting its head into the jug, but the jug’s neck was too narrow. Then it tried to push the jug to make the water flow out, but the jug was too heavy.

The crow thought hard for a moment. Then it looked around and saw some pebbles nearby. Suddenly, it got a clever idea!

It started picking up the pebbles one by one and dropping them into the jug. As more and more pebbles fell into the jug, the water level began to rise. Soon, it was high enough for the crow to drink. The crow’s plan had worked!

Moral of the story: If you think and work hard, you can find a solution to any problem.
